Custom Drapery 6 DVD &Instructional Book Set

Dianne Apple has been in the custom drapery business for over 37 years, working directly with the client to provide fabrics, trims, style choices, hardware and installation to create a unique and individual look for each home. She is the author of "Creating Window Wonders"  an instructional textbook and six instructional DVDs. Dianne has made treatments for homes, offices, boats, airplanes, buses- even a dog bed or two!

"Dianne Apple's book, "Creating Window Wonders" is explicit, detailed, and easy to understand.  It takes all the guess work out of making professional looking window treatments. She not only teaches you how to make the drapes, but also discusses fabrics, installation and much, much more. I refer to the book constantly for things like application, how to figure yardage, how to figure pattern repeats, and the list goes on. I don't know what I would do without the book. Likewise, the videos are a wonderful visual tool that I refer to. Before doing a specific project, I review the video and it is if I just had a private lesson. There is no way that I can make a mistake. I want to thank Dianne again for taking the time to put her techniques in writing and supplementing them with the videos." - Lee Alexandrow-Busch

"Creating Window Wonders" is an instructional textbook of 122 pages, detailing approximately 36 different treatments, including pleated draperies, swag treatments, Roman and balloon shades, cornice boards, dust skirts and coverlets, sheers, laminated shades, tie backs and much more. Each subject is covered extensively from measuring and calculating yardage, to step by step fabrication techniques, through the installation process. Also included is a glossary of 50 terms, a stackback chart, detailed instructions on how to figure pleats, an in-depth discussion of pattern repeats and drapery fabrics and a section to test yourself. As a part of each chapter there are drawings, sketches and detailed math calculations to make each project simple to understand.

Each of the six videos are step by step, hands-on, visual instruction for the individual topic.  Each video covers how to measure, how to figure yardage, and a discussion of the appropriate fabrics for the treatment.  Each project is made in it's entirety from figuring and cutting the fabric, through the final instructions on how to install it.
